Catechesis leading to Confirmation
Adults who are interested in becoming confirmed, communing members of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church are invited to attend Catechism classes in the Six Chief Parts of the Christian faith as taught in Luther's Small Catechism of 1529 and its explanation. Led by God's Word of Holy Scripture, this curriculum teaches the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, Confession, and the Sacrament of the Altar (Holy Communion). Furthermore, the meaning of Divine Service and the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church from 1530 (Lutheran doctrine) are also taught in this curriculum. This catechesis prepares the adult for life as a member of the confessional Evangelical Lutheran Church, entitling them to all rights of membership.
